DOT 4 brake fluid is a high-performance, glycol-based fluid designed for severe duty. Its primary uses include powering hydraulic disc and drum braking systems, anti-lock braking systems (ABS), and hydraulic clutches. It is highly recommended for towing, mountain driving, and high-performance applications.
PRODUCT PERFORMANCE
High-Temperature Resistance: DOT 4 features a higher dry and wet boiling point compared to DOT 3. This resists boiling and “vapor lock” under heavy, continuous braking (such as during the brakes downhill).
System Compatibility: It is formulated to be fully compatible with the rubber seals, hoses, and metals (steel, aluminum, cast iron, brass, copper) found in most modern cars, trucks, and motorcycles.
ABS and Clutches: Because it maintains a stable viscosity at extreme temperatures, it is safe and highly effective for use in complex modern ABS and hydraulic clutch systems.
